ALL RELIGIONS TEACH MEN TO BE RIGHTEOUS, THEN WHY FOLLOW ONLY ISLAM?

Question
All religions basically teach followers to do good deeds. Why should a person only follow Islam? Can he not follow any of the religions?
Answer

1
.   Major difference between Islam and most other religions
All religions basically exhort mankind to be righteous and eschew evil. But Islam goes beyond that. It guides us towards practical ways of achieving righteousness and eliminating evil from our individual and collective lives. Islam takes into account human nature and the complexities of human society. Islam is guidance from the Creator Himself. Therefore, Islam is also called the Deen-ul-Fitrah (the natural religion of Man).

2
.   Example - Islam commands us to shun robbery and also prescribes method ofeleminating robbery
a.       Islam prescribes method of eliminating robberyAll major religions teach that theft is an evil act. Islam teaches the same. So what is the difference between Islam and the other religions? The difference lies in the fact that Islam, besides teaching that robbing is evil, shows a practical way of creating a social structure in which people will not rob.
b.       Islam prescribes Zakaat
Islam prescribes a system of Zakaat (obligatory annual charity). Islamic law prescribes that every person who has a saving that exceeds the nisaab level i.e. more than 85 grams of gold, should give 2.5% of that saving every lunar year in charity. If every rich person in the world gave Zakaat sincerely, poverty will be eradicated from this world. Not a single human being would die of hunger.
c.       Chopping off the hands as punishment for robbery
Islam prescribes chopping off the hands of the convicted robber. The Glorious Qur’ansays in Surah Maidah:

HEREAFTER - LIFE AFTER DEATH

Question
How can you prove the existence of hereafter, i.e. life after death?
Answer

1.   Belief in the hereafter is not based on blind faith?
Many people wonder as to how a person with a scientific and logical temperament, can lend any credence to the belief of life after death. People assume that anyone believing in the hereafter is doing so on the basis of blind belief.
My belief in the hereafter is based on a logical argument.

2.   Hereafter a logical belief
There are more than a thousand verses in the Glorious Qur’an, containing scientific facts (refer my book "Qur’an and Modern Science-Compatible or Incompatible?"). Many facts mentioned in the Qur’an have been discovered in the last few centuries. But science has not advanced to a level where it can confirm every statement of the

Question:
Why are two witnesses who are women, equivalent to only one witness who is a man ?
Answer:
It is not true that two female witnesses are always considered as equal to only one male witness. It is true only in certain cases. There are about five verses in the Qur’an that mention witnesses, without specifying male or female. There is only one verse in the Qur’an, that says two female witnesses are equal to one male witness. This verse is Surah Baqarah, chapter 2 verse 282. This is the longest verse in the Qur’an and deals with financial transactions. It says:
"Oh! ye who believe!
When ye deal with each other,
in transactions involving future obligation
in a fixed period of time
reduce them to writing and get two witnesses
out of your own men and if there are not two men,
then a man and two women, such as ye choose,
for witnesses so that if one of them errs
the other can remind her."
            [Al-Qur’an 2:282]

 PORK FORBIDDEN
Question:
Why is the eating of pork forbidden in Islam?
Answer:
The fact that consumption of pork is prohibited in Islam is well known. The following points explain various aspects of this prohibition:

1.   Pork prohibited in Qur’an
The Qur’an prohibits the consumption of pork in no less than 4 different places. It is prohibited in 2:173, 5:3, 6:145 and 16:115.
"Forbidden to you (for food) are: dead meat, blood, the flesh of swine, and that on which hath been invoked the name of other than Allah."                                   [Al-Qur’an 5:3]
The above verses of the Holy Qur’an are sufficient to satisfy a Muslim as to why pork is forbidden.

2.   Pork prohibited in the Bible
The Christian is likely to be convinced by his religious scriptures. The Bible prohibits the consumption of pork, in the book of Leviticus
"And the swine, though he divide the hoof, and be cloven footed, yet he cheweth not the cud; he is unclean to you".

Question:
Science tell us that whatever one eats, it has an effect on one’s behaviour. Why then, does Islam allow Muslims to eat non-vegetarian food, since eating of animals could make a person violent and ferocious?
Answer:

1.   Only eating of herbivorous animals allowed
I agree that, what a person eats has an effect on his behaviour. This is one of the reasons why Islam prohibits the eating of carnivorous animals like lion, tiger, leopard, etc. who are violent and ferocious. The consumption of the meat of such animals would probably make a person violent and ferocious. Islam only allows the eating of herbivorous animals like cow, goat, sheep, etc. that are peaceful and docile. We Muslims eat peaceful and docile animals because we are peace loving and non-violent people.

2.   The Qur’an says Prophet prohibits what is bad
The Qur’an says:
"The Prophet commands them what is just and prohibits what is evil". "He allows them as lawful what is good (and pure) and prohibits them what is bad (and impure),"
[Al-Qur’an 7: 157]
"So take what the Messenger assigns to you and deny yourselves that which he withholds from you."
[Al-Qur’an 59: 7]
For a Muslim, the Prophet’s statement is sufficient to convince him that Allah does not wish humans to eat some kinds of meat while allowing some other kinds.

Question:
Why do Muslims slaughter the animal in a ruthless manner by torturing it and slowly and painfully killing it?
Answer:
The Islamic method of slaughtering animals, known as Zabiha has been the object of much criticism from a large number of people.
Before I reply to the question, let me relate an incidence about a discussion between a Sikh and a Muslim regarding animal slaughter.
Once a Sikh asked a Muslim, "Why do you slaughter the animal painfully by cutting the throat instead of the way we do with one stroke i.e. jhatka?" The Muslim replied "We are brave and courageous and attack from the front. We are marad ka baccha (macho men),you are cowards and attack from behind".
Jokes apart, one may consider the following points, which prove that the Zabiha method is not only humane but also scientifically the best:

Question:
Killing an animal is a ruthless act. Why then do Muslims consume non-vegetarian food?
Answer:
‘Vegetarianism’ is now a movement the world over. Many even associate it with animal rights. Indeed, a large number of people consider the consumption of meat and other non-vegetarian products to be a violation of animal rights.
Islam enjoins mercy and compassion for all living creatures. At the same time Islam maintains that Allah has created the earth and its wondrous flora and fauna for the benefit of mankind. It is upto mankind to use every resource in this world judiciously, as a niyamat(Divine blessing) and amanat (trust) from Allah.
Let us look at various other aspects of this argument.

MUSLIMS ARE FUNDAMENTALISTS AND TERRORISTS

Question:
Why are most of the Muslims fundamentalists and terrorists?
Answer:
This question is often hurled at Muslims, either directly or indirectly, during any discussion on religion or world affairs. Muslim stereotypes are perpetuated in every form of the media accompanied by gross misinformation about Islam and Muslims. In fact, such misinformation and false propaganda often leads to discrimination and acts of violence against Muslims. A case in point is the anti-Muslim campaign in the American media following the Oklahoma bomb blast, where the press was quick to declare a ‘Middle Eastern conspiracy’ behind the attack. The culprit was later identified as a soldier from the American Armed Forces.
Let us analyze this allegation of ‘fundamentalism’ and ‘terrorism’:

Question:
How can Islam be called the religion of peace when it was spread by the sword?
Answer:
It is a common complaint among some non-Muslims that Islam would not have millions of adherents all over the world, if it had not been spread by the use of force. The following points will make it clear, that far from being spread by the sword, it was the inherent force of truth, reason and logic that was responsible for the rapid spread of Islam.

1.   Islam means peace.
Islam comes from the root word ‘salaam’, which means peace. It also means submittingone’s will to Allah (swt). Thus Islam is a religion of peace, which is acquired by submitting one’s will to the will of the Supreme Creator, Allah (swt).

The status of women in Islam is often the target of attacks in the secular media. The ‘hijaabor the Islamic dress is cited by many as an example of the ‘subjugation’ of women under Islamic law. Before we analyze the reasoning behind the religiously mandated ‘hijaab’, let us first study the status of women in societies before the advent of Islam

1.   In the past women were degraded and used as objects of lust
The following examples from history amply illustrate the fact that the status of women in earlier civilizations was very low to the extent that they were denied basic human dignity:
1.      Babylonian Civilization:
The women were degraded and were denied all rights under the Babylonian law. If a man murdered a woman, instead of him being punished, his wife was put to death.

A lot of people, including some Muslims, question the logic of allowing Muslim men to have more than one spouse while denying the same ‘right’ to women.
Let me first state emphatically, that the foundation of an Islamic society is justice and equity. Allah has created men and women as equal, but with different capabilities and different responsibilities. Men and women are different, physiologically and psychologically. Their roles and responsibilities are different. Men and women are equal in Islam, but not identical.
Surah Nisa’ Chapter 4 verses 22 to 24 gives the list of women with who you can not marry and it is further mentions in Surah Nisa’ Chapter 4 verse 24 "Also (prohibited are) women already married"
The following points enumerate the reasons why polyandry is prohibited in Islam:

Polygamy

Definition of Polygamy
1.  Polygamy means a system of marriage whereby one person has more than one spouse. Polygamy can be of two types. One is polygyny where a man marries more than one woman, and the other is polyandry, where a woman marries more than one man. In Islam, limited polygyny is permitted; whereas polyandry is completely prohibited.

Now coming to the original question, why is a man allowed to have more than one wife?

2.  The Qur’an is the only religious scripture in the world that says,"marry only one".
The Qur’an is the only religious book, on the face of this earth, that contains the phrase ‘marry only one’. There is no other religious book that instructs men to have only one wife. In none of the other religious scriptures, whether it be the Vedas, the Ramayan, theMahabharat, the Geeta, the Talmud or the Bible does one find a restriction on the number of wives. According to these scriptures one can marry as many as one wishes. It was only later, that the Hindu priests and the Christian Church restricted the number of wives to one.

Is Islam Good and Peaceful?

January 19, 2013

"Islam brings hope and comfort to more than a billion people worldwide.""Its teachings are good and peaceful."
"We see in Islam a religion that traces its origins back to God's call on Abraham."
"Islam is a vibrant faith.... We respect the faith. We honor its traditions."
"This year,Eid (feast at end of Ramadan) is celebrated at the same time as Hanukkah and Advent. So it's a good time for people of these great faiths, Islam, Judaism and Christianity, to remember how much we have in common."

THE DEATHS OF AMINAH AND ABDUL-MUTTALIB:

When the Messenger of Allah was six years old, his mother, Aminah, died. She had taken him to Yathrib to visit her relatives and on the journey back her death occurred at al-Abwa between Makkah and Madinah. Muhammad (peace and blessings be upon him) must have felt very lonely at this time but he went to stay with his grandfather who was extremely kind to him. He would sit Muhammad (peace and blessings be upon him) on his favourite seat in the shade of the Ka'bah and affectionately caress him.

When the Messenger of Allah (  ) was eight, Abdul-Muttalib also died.

Before Prophethood

MAKKAH AND THE QURAYSH:

After a long journey, Ibrahim approached Makkah, which lies in a valley between desolate mountains. As there was no water, crops could not grow and human life could not be sustained there. Accompanied by his wife Hajar and his son Isma'il, Ibrahim was fleeing from the cult of idol-worship which had spread throughout the world. He wanted to establish a centre in which Allah alone would be worshipped and to which people could be called. It would be a beacon of guidance and a sanctuary of peace, radiating true faith and righteousness.

Allah accepted Ibrahim's intention and blessed the spot. After Ibrahim had left the inhospitable territory, water flowed from a spring to provide his small family with the means to survive. Hajar and Isma'il dwelt

THE HOLY LIFE OF THE HOLY PROPHET MUHAMMAD (P.B.U.H.)

The Age of Ignorance

ANCIENT RELIGIONS:

After the Prophet of AllahIsa ibn Maryam (a.s), there was a long period without a Prophet. Light and knowledge disappeared. Christianity fell into disrepute and became a matter of sport for the corrupt and the hypocrites. From the very beginning, Christianity had been subjected to alterations by extremists and to interpretations by the ignorant. The simple teaching of the Messiah was buried beneath the transgressors' evil behaviour.

The Jews had become a society obsessed with rites and rules lacking all life and spirit. Apart from that, Judaism a tribal religion, did not carry a message to the world nor a summons to other nations nor mercy to humanity at large.

THE SPREAD OF ISLAM

From the oasis cities of Makkah and Madinah in the Arabian desert, the
message of Islam went forth with electrifying speed. Within half a century
of the Prophet's death, Islam had spread to three continents. Islam is not, as
some imagine in the West, a religion of the sword nor did it spread
primarily by means of war. It was only within Arabia, where a crude form
of idolatry was rampant, that Islam was propagated by warring against
those tribes which did not accept the message of God--whereas Christians

WHAT IS THE ISLAMIC RELIGION?

According to a famous saying of the Prophet Islam consists of five pillars

which are as follows: affirmation of the faith (shahadah), that is, witnessing

that La ilaha illa 'Llah (There is no divinity but Allah) and Muhammadun

rasul Allah (Muhammad is the Messenger of Allah); the five daily prayers

(al-salat) which Muslims perform facing Makkah; fasting (al-sawm) from

dawn to sunset during the month of Ramadan; making the pilgrimage to

ISLAMIC LAW (al-Shari'ah)

Islam possesses a religious law called al-Shari'ah in Arabic which governs
the life of Muslims and which Muslims consider to be the embodiment of
the Will of god. The Shari'ah is contained in principle in the Quran as
elaborated and complemented by the Sunnah. On the basis of these
principles the schools of this day were developed early in Islamic history.
This Law, while being rooted in the sources of the Islamic revelation, is a
living body of law which caters to the needs of Islamic society.

ISLAM A WORLD CIVILIZATION

"Thus We have appointed you a middle nation, that you may be witnesses
upon mankind." (Quran, surah 11:43)
GENERAL CHARACTERISTICS OF ISLAMIC CIVILIZATION
Islam was destined to become a world religion and to create a civilization
which stretched from one end of the globe to the other. Already during the
early Muslim caliphates, first the Arabs, then the Persians and later the
Turks set about to create classical Islamic civilization. Later, in the 13th
century, both Africa and India became great centers of Islamic civilization
and soon thereafter Muslim kingdoms were established in the Malay

THE CALIPHATES

The Umayad caliphate established in 661 was to last for about a century.
During this time Damascus became the Capital of an Islamic world which
stretched from the western borders of China to southern France. Not only
did the Islamic conquests continue during this period through North Africa
to Spain and France in the West and to Sind, Central Asia and Transoxiana
in the East, but the basic social and legal institutions of the newly founded
Islamic world were established.

NORTH AFRICA AND SPAIN

When the Abbasids captured Damascus, one of the Umayyad princes
escaped and made the long journey from there to Spain to found Umayyad
rule there, thus beginning the golden age of Islam in Spain. Cordoba was
established as the capital and soon became Europe's greatest city not only in
population but from the point of view of its cultural and intellectual life.
The Umayyads ruled over two centuries until they weakened and were
replaced by local rulers.
Meanwhile in North Africa, various local dynasties held sway until two
powerful Berber dynasties succeeded in uniting much of North Africa and
also Spain in the 12th and 13th centuries. After them this area was ruled
once again by local dynasties such as the Sharifids of Morocco who still
rule in that country. As for Spain itself, Muslim dynasty was defeated in
Granada in 1492 thus bringing nearly eight hundred years of Muslim rule
in Spain to an end.

ISLAMIC HISTORY AFTER THE MONGOL INVASION

ISLAMIC HISTORY AFTER THE MONGOL INVASION

The Mongols devastated the eastern lands of Islam and ruled from the Sinai
Desert to India for a century. But they soon converted to Islam and became
known as the II-Khanids. They were in turn succeeded by Timur and his
descendants who made Samarqand their capital and ruled from 1369 to
1500. The sudden rise of Timur delayed the formation and expansion of
the Ottoman empire but soon the Ottomans became the dominant power in
the Islamic world.
From humble origins the Turks rose to dominate over the whole of
Anatolia and even parts of Europe. In 1453 Mehmet the Conqueror
captured Constantiople and put an end to the Byzantine empire. The
Ottomans conquered much of eastern Europe and nearly the whole of the
Arab world, only Morocco and Mauritania in the West and Yemen,
Hadramaut and parts of the Arabian peninsula remaining beyond their
control. They reached their zenith of power with Suleyman the Magnificent
whose armies reached Hungary and Austria. From the 17th century onward
with the rise of Western European powers and later Russia, the power of
the Ottomans began to wane. But they nevertheless remained a force to be
reckoned with until the First World War when they were defeated by
Western nations. Soon thereafter Kamal Ataturk gained power in Turkey
and abolished the six centuries of rule of the Ottomans in 1924.
While the Ottomans were concerned mostly with the western front of their
empire, to the east in Persia a new dynasty called the Safavids came to
power in 1502. The Safavids established a powerful state of their own
which flourished for over two centuries and became known for the
flowering of the arts. Their capital Isfahan, became one of the most
beautiful cities with its blue tiled mosques and exquisite houses. The
Afghan invasion of 1736 put an end to Safavid rule and prepared the
independence of Afghanistan which occurred formally in the 19th century.
Persia itself fell into turmoil until Nader Shah, the last Oriental conqueror,
reunited the country and even conquered India. But the rule of the dynasty
established by him was short-lived. The Zand dynasty soon took over to be
overthrown by the Qajars in 1779 who made Tehran their capital and ruled
until 1921 when they were in turn replaced by the Pahlavis.
As for India, Islam entered into the land east of the Indus River peacefully.
Gradually Muslims gained political power beginning in the early 13th
century. But this period which marked the expansion of both Islam and
Islamic culture came to an end with the conquest of much of India in 1526
by Babur, one of the Timurid princes. He established the powerful Mogul
empire which produced such famous rulers as Akbar, Jahangir, and Shah
Jahan and which lasted, despite the gradual rise of British power in India,
until 1857 when it was officially abolished.
Farther east in the Malay world, Islam began to spread in the 12th century
in northern Sumatra and soon Muslim kingdoms were established in Java,
Sumatra and mainland Malaysia. Despite the colonization of the Malay
world, Islam spread in that area covering present day Indonesia. Malaysia,
the southern Philippines and southern Thailand, and is still continuing in
islands farther east.
As far as Africa is concerned, Islam entered into East Africa at the very
beginning of the Islamic period but remained confined to the coast for
some time, only the Sudan and Somaliland becoming gradually both
Arabized and Islamized. West Africa felt the presence of Islam through
North African traders who traveled with their camel caravans south of the
Sahara. By the 14th century there were already Muslim sultanates in such
areas as Mali, and Timbuctu in West Africa and Harar in East Africa had
become seats of Islamic learning.
Gradually Islam penetrated both inland and southward. There also
appeared major charismatic figures who inspired intense resistance against
European domination. The process of the Islamization of Africa did not
cease during the colonial period and continues even today with the result
that most Africans are now Muslims carrying on a tradition which has had
practically as long a history in certain areas of sub-Saharan Africa as Islam
itself.

EDUCATION AND SCIENCE IN THE ISLAMIC WORLD

In seeking to live successfully in the modern world, in independence and
according to Islamic principles, Muslim countries have been emphasizing a
great deal the significance of the role of education and the importance of
mastering Western science and technology. Already in the 19th century,
certain Muslim countries such as Egypt, Ottoman Turkey and Persia
established institutions of higher learning where the modern sciences and

ISLAM AND MUSLIM

ISLAM AND MUSLIMS

The Arabic word "Islam" means peace, submission, and obedience. The religion of Islam consists of the complete acceptance of the teachings and guidance of God as revealed to His Prophet Muhammad (PBUH).

A Muslim is one who believes in God and strives for the total reorganization of one's life according to the guidance revealed by God-the Qur'an-and sayings of the Prophet. A Muslim also works to create a human society on the same basis. "Muhammadanism" is a misnomer for Islam and offends its very spirit, for it implies that Muslims have deified and worship Muhammad, as the Christians did with Jesus Christ. This practice is condemned in the Qur'an and is totally foreign to the Islamic belief structure.

THE MORAL SYSTEM OF ISLAM

THE MORAL SYSTEM OF ISLAM

Islam has laid down for humanity universal fundamental rights that are to be observed and respected under all circumstances. So that these rights can be realized in one's daily and social life, Islam provides both legal safeguards and a very effective moral system In beef, whatever improves the well-being of an individual or a society is morally good, and whatever harms this well-being is morally bad.

Islam attaches so much importance to one s love of God and love of fellow human beings that it discourages excessive formalism. We read in the Qur'an:

LIFE AFTER DEATH

LIFE AFTER DEATH
The question of whether there is a life after death is not an issue of scientific concern, for science only deals with the classification and analysis of sense data. While man has been conducting scientific inquiries and research, in the modern sense of the term, for only the last few centuries, he has been familiar with the concept of life after death since time immemorial.
All of the prophets sent by God for the benefit of humanity called upon their people to worship God and to believe in life after death. They laid so much emphasis on this last belief that even a slight doubt about its reality was considered a sign of denying both God and all other beliefs. The very fact that they have dealt with this metaphysical question of life after death so confidently and so uniformly, despite the fact that they appeared over thousands of years and in different

PROPHETHOOD IN ISLAM

The concept of prophethood is found in the three great monotheistic religions of Christianity, Judaism, and Islam. In Islam, however, it has a special status and significance.

According to Islam, Allah created man to worship Him and to lead a virtuous life based on His teachings and guidance. But how can man know and fulfill his role and the purpose of his existence if he does not receive clear and practical instructions of what Allah wants him to do? The existence of prophethood, by which Allah sent a prophet to every nation to reveal His message in terms that the people could understand, has answered this question most effectively

One might ask: How were the prophets chosen and which individuals were so honored?

WHAT THEY SAY ABOUT THE QURAN

WHAT THEY SAY ABOUT THE QURAN
Humanity has received divine guidance through two channels: the word of Allah and the prophets who were chosen by Him to communicate His will to humanity These channels have always functioned together, and if one is ignored or neglected, the will of Allah cannot be known with any degree of accuracy. The Hindus neglected their prophets and focused all of their attention on their books, which proved to be only word puzzles that eventually were no longer understood by the people. Similarly the Christians, disregarding the Bible, attached importance only to the person of Jesus Christ and eventually deified him,. This resulted in the loss of the very essence of tawhid (monotheism) contained in the Bible.

Keajaiban Matematis Al-Quran

Sejarah Dajjal Dari Nabi Musa Hingga Turunnya Nabi Isa

Sejarah Dajjal Dari Nabi Musa Hingga Turunnya Nabi Isa

Menurut Dr. Isa Daud (Kemunculan Dajjal di Segi Tiga Bermuda, 2000), Dajjal lahir 100 tahun sebelum kelahiran Nabi Musa as.

Penyesatan Samiri selalu masalah akidah.

Ia memiliki nama samara: Dihyatul Kalbi.  Umar  Bin Khottob bermaksud membunuhnya. Namun Rasulullah melarangnya.
